Robert Mason Tripp.   Bob Tripp of Dry Ridge died Thursday, December 10, 2015 at home with loving family at his side. He was born in and raised in Massachusetts, graduating from Natick High School and later Colby College in Maine. His professional career was in the insurance industry, principally with Massachusetts Indemnity and Life, Massachusetts Casualty and eventually retiring as a Senior Officer from Ohio National in 2004.

He leaves his beloved wife Sharon Coomer Orsburn, son Jason Orsburn, daughter Michelle Schimpff and her husband David of Dry Ridge, grandchildren Parker, Anderson, Kate and Alex Schimpff, sister Dijit Tripp Taylor of New Hampshire, nieces Hannah, Bethany and Emily Taylor of Colorado, Massachusetts and New Hampshire, plus cousins in Massachusetts and Maine. Bob was especially proud to have maintained friendships with people from both his schools and all of his employment situations.

Bob was a dedicated golfer, starting as a caddy at the age of twelve when he was barely large enough to carry the bags. It gave him great joy that his grandsons recently look up the sport. Most recently, he was a member at the Eagle Creek Country Club. Bob was a member of Williamstown Christian Church. His passion for children and learning led to him volunteer in the church nursery and to serve as a weekly reading mentor through the “Real Men Read” program at the Crittenden Mount Zion Elementary School. Bob was loved by all who knew him. His kind, gentle, easy-going manner showed everyone who met him that he was a true “old world gentleman.”

Bob was predeceased by his daughter Megan Marie of Cape Cod Massachusetts in 2001 and his parents Robert and Edith Tripp of Epsom, New Hampshire.

A memorial service will be held at Williamstown Christian Church on Saturday December 19, 2015. Family will be at the church to receive visitors from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. The service will begin at 11am.

Donations in Bob’s memory may be made to the Grant County Public Library, 201 Barnes Road, Williamstown, KY 41097.
