Rochester, NH:

Richard Thompson, 73, died Friday September 8, 2017 at his home following a sudden illness.

 

He was born in Natick, MA, Oct. 23, 1943, the son of Howard and Ina Claire (Richard) Thompson. Dick, as he was known by family and friends, was a dedicated husband, father, and brother.

In his retirement years, he would frequently travel with his wife, spend time on adventures with his son. He had a contagious laugh a gentle, soft demeanor.

He had been employed as a lineman with New England Telephone, later AT&T.

He served in the US Air Force. Dick and his wife, Kathleen, were partners in Jackson Hewitt Tax Service in Rochester.

Survivors include his wife Kathleen (Kinnarney) Thompson of Rochester, a son Jamie of Boston, his brother Peter and sister-in-law Patty, and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Wednesday, 9/13/2017 from 4 to 7 PM at the H.J. Grondin and Son Funeral Home, 177 North Main St. Rochester. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 12:00pm (noon) at St. Mary's Church, 71 Lowell Street, Rochester. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
