Paul E. Withrow, Jr.
Enfield,
NH - Paul E. Withrow Jr. passed away October 26th in
the comfort of his home surrounded by family and his beloved pets after a
courageous battle with many health issues. This last battle was with leukemia
and with the help of the great staff of the Norris Cotton Cancer Center at DHMC
we had more time to spend with and to love him.
Paul was born October 19, 1943 in Natick, MA to Paul E. Withrow
Sr. and Florence A. (Thorne) Withrow. He attended
school in Natick, MA and graduated from Natick High School in 1961. After
school he enlisted into the US Navy and became a proud veteran of the US Navy
Seabees. While in the Navy he married the late Patrica
M. Romeroand and had a son George Camara.
After
returning to Massachusetts he married the late Karen Hemeon
and had two beautiful daughters Donna and Cheryl-Ann.
He
owned and operated Framingham Shell until moving to Enfield in 1979. Paul went
to work for Eaton Oil before going to work for NH DOT and working his way up to
patrol foreman. He retired in 2003 and enjoyed time with family, friends and
his pets, motorcycling and ATV riding, NASCAR and monthly game night with close
friends. He was a hunter safety instructor and served his community as a member
of the Enfield Planning Board and in many other silent ways like checking on
and sharing his newspaper with local elderly people that could not get out and
about and sometime just by visiting others.
He had 39 years of sobriety and was a real inspiration those who knew him in
the fellowship of AA. He was a 35 year member of Matt Talbort
group 5, member of the American Legion in Lebanon NH and member of the Navy
Seabee Veterans of America Island X-1 in White River Jct., VT.
Paul is predeceased by his parents and his son George. He is survived by his
wife and soul mate of 30 years Kimberly (Rice) Withrow,
daughter Donna Tyler and her partner Brian Burnett,
daughter Cheryl-Ann Withrow and her partner Tony Chastney, Hanai daughter Pinky Kahaloa, sister Joyce Suttill and
her children, Tom Suttill and his wife Paulette,
Tracy Ross and her husband Mike, grandsons Jacob and Noah Tyler, granddaughter Nalei Campbell and her husband Garrett, great grandchildren
Taylor, Tyson, Taylynn, Trysten,
and many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, aunts and cousins, and
his beloved 4 legged furry kids who were there every day no matter what.
Heart felt thank you to the staff of Norris Cotton Cancer Center, Transplant
team at DHMC and all the staff at DHMC for your loving care over the years. In
lieu of flowers donations can be made to Norris Cotton Cancer Center at
Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon NH or a humane society near you
in Paul's name.
Words to you all from Paul until we meet again enjoy life to the fullest
because you never know when it will end.
God GRANT me the SERENITY to accept the things I cannot CHANGE, the COURAGE to
change the things I can, and the WISDOM to know the difference.
Family and friends are invited to the Ricker Funeral Home in Lebanon on
Thursday October 29th from 2-4 and again from 6-9 PM. Paul’s life will be
celebrated during a memorial service at the Community Lutheran Church of
Enfield at 11am on Friday October 30th. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove
Cemetery.
