Paul E. Withrow, Jr.

Enfield, NH - Paul E. Withrow Jr. passed away October 26th in the comfort of his home surrounded by family and his beloved pets after a courageous battle with many health issues. This last battle was with leukemia and with the help of the great staff of the Norris Cotton Cancer Center at DHMC we had more time to spend with and to love him.

Paul was born October 19, 1943 in Natick, MA to Paul E. Withrow Sr. and Florence A. (Thorne) Withrow. He attended school in Natick, MA and graduated from Natick High School in 1961. After school he enlisted into the US Navy and became a proud veteran of the US Navy Seabees. While in the Navy he married the late Patrica M. Romeroand and had a son George Camara.

After returning to Massachusetts he married the late Karen Hemeon and had two beautiful daughters Donna and Cheryl-Ann.

He owned and operated Framingham Shell until moving to Enfield in 1979. Paul went to work for Eaton Oil before going to work for NH DOT and working his way up to patrol foreman. He retired in 2003 and enjoyed time with family, friends and his pets, motorcycling and ATV riding, NASCAR and monthly game night with close friends. He was a hunter safety instructor and served his community as a member of the Enfield Planning Board and in many other silent ways like checking on and sharing his newspaper with local elderly people that could not get out and about and sometime just by visiting others.

He had 39 years of sobriety and was a real inspiration those who knew him in the fellowship of AA. He was a 35 year member of Matt Talbort group 5, member of the American Legion in Lebanon NH and member of the Navy Seabee Veterans of America Island X-1 in White River Jct., VT.

Paul is predeceased by his parents and his son George. He is survived by his wife and soul mate of 30 years Kimberly (Rice) Withrow, daughter Donna Tyler and her partner Brian Burnett,

Heart felt thank you to the staff of Norris Cotton Cancer Center, Transplant team at DHMC and all the staff at DHMC for your loving care over the years. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Norris Cotton Cancer Center at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon NH or a humane society near you in Paul's name.

Words to you all from Paul until we meet again enjoy life to the fullest because you never know when it will end.

God GRANT me the SERENITY to accept the things I cannot CHANGE, the COURAGE to change the things I can, and the WISDOM to know the difference.

Family and friends are invited to the Ricker Funeral Home in Lebanon on Thursday October 29th from 2-4 and again from 6-9 PM. Paul’s life will be celebrated during a memorial service at the Community Lutheran Church of Enfield at 11am on Friday October 30th. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
