Ora (Sonny) Bailey

February 20, 1942 – April 4, 2010

Ora “Sonny” Bailey died of cancer on April 4, 2010. He passed away on Easter Sunday in Olympia, Washington.

Sonny and his wife, Gearl Dean Bailey, had been married for more than 30 years. They met in Florida, moved to California, and then to Washington state in 1995.

In Washington, Sonny began and operated an aircraft mechanics business (Four Star Accessory Overhaul) with his partner and best friend of 45 years, Larry Childress.

Sonny was a proud member of the United States Marines. He served as a rifleman in Viet Nam in 1967 where he met his friend and business partner, Larry Childress.

Sonny had a lifelong love of airplanes. As a child in Natick and an adult in Washington, he built and flew model airplanes.
