Joanne E. (Fancy) Mueller, age 75, of Plymouth formerly of Hopedale, passed away at home on October 13, 2018, after losing a courageous twenty- year battle with breast cancer. She was the beloved wife of Paul Mueller of Plymouth. She was the devoted mother of Mark Monique and his wife Gail of Framingham, Jennifer Doherty and her husband Paul of Sandwich. She was the cherished grandmother of Cory, Ryan and Abby Monique of Framingham and Kaitlin, Liam, and Maggie Doherty of Sandwich. She was the sister of, David Fancy and his wife Elsa of Lunenburg, Richard Fancy and his wife Linda of Michigan, Barbara Hill and her husband Ray of North Carolina, Susan Mercury and her husband Jack of Wareham, Carole Ablondi and her husband Craig of Mendon. She leaves her step-children, Pamela Laughlin of Newton, Kurt Mueller of New Hampshire, and David Mueller of Duxbury. She also leaves many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and one great-great niece.

Joanne was born in Louisville, Kentucky on March 12, 1943 to Raymond and Elizabeth (Healy) Fancy. Joanne was a well-regarded account representative in the chemical industry and her customers looked forward to their yearly homemade Christmas Cookie basket. She spent many years going to her much loved second home in South Woodstock, Vermont where she had an antique shop. She was an accomplished sewer who in her younger years taught women at Framingham Women’s Correctional Institution how to sew. She was an active member of the Plymouth Yacht Club, Plymouth Garden Club, Cranberry Quilters Club, Great Island Artisan Guild, where she made handbags and pillows. She was the past President of the Great Island Homeowner’s Association, she was a member of the Plymouth and Hopedale Board of Health Departments. She was a role model and hero to her beloved family. In her words it was never goodbye but, “see you later”.

A period of visitation will take place on Saturday, October 20, 2018, from 10 am to 12 pm with a 12 pm service at Davis Funeral and Cremation Home, 619 State Road, Plymouth (Manomet). In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her name may be made to Jordan Hospital Club Cancer Center, 275 Sandwich Street, Plymouth, MA 02360.
