P. SALVIN, 67
LAKE WALES - Jeffrey P. Salvin, 67, of Lake Wales,
FL., died at home fighting cancer, on August 20, 2011.
Mr. Salvin, born in 1943, in Boston, MA, was a graduate of The Pennsylvania State University College of Engineering (Architectural Engineering degree) and Florida International University (Master's in Construction Management.) After college he served as a Captain in the Army Corp of Engineers.
Before retirement from the Federal Government, he supervised the building of
hospitals and nursing homes for the Veterans Administration and Courthouses for
the General Services Administration for almost thirty years. Soon after retirement,
he established Edgewater ADR, in Miami, and led their work in assessing and
resolving construction claims.
Jeffrey Salvin
was dedicated to his community. He served as a hearing officer for Dade County,
as a leader for the Lake Ashton HOA Violation Appeals Board; an elected
official on the Board of Supervisors of the Lake Ashton Community Development
District; and as a member of the Lake Wales Board of Appeals.
Spending time with family, riding his
motorcycle, sailing, hiking, racquetball, RV-ing,
playing bridge, and taking long walks with his collie made him happy.
He is survived by his beloved wife Barbara, son Jason, and grandson Daniel.
