Eleanor M DiSabito

 

Eleanor Marie (Burton) DiSabito went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 7th, 2024.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, James J. DiSabito of Rutland, Vermont, her eldest son James R. DiSabito and his wife Donna of Bartow, Florida, her youngest son Douglas E. DiSabito and his husband David FitzGerald of Alburgh, Vermont, and her very special “adopted” daughter Renae M. Rhodes and her husband Joe Fusco of Chittenden, Vermont.

She was a wonderful and loving grandmother to Amelia M. DiSabito of Morgantown, West Virginia, Avery M. DiSabito of Salisbury, Maryland, James G. DiSabito and wife Kate of Houston, Texas, and Gabriel M. DiSabito of Bartow, Florida.  She always looked forward to visits from her favorite grand-dog “Binky”.

She is also survived by her sister, Kathleen Ayers and her husband Jim, brother Willard Burton and his wife Sandra, sister Blanche Paulen and her husband David, and brother Clyde Burton, all of Canada. She had many nieces and nephews whom she loved very much and always looked forward to visits with family.

Eleanor was born on March 12th, 1941, in Margaree Valley, Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada. She emigrated to the US in 1959 to attend High School in Natick, Massachusetts.  She was married to Jim in 1964 and lived with her family in Holliston, Massachusetts until 1982 when they relocated to Rutland, Vermont.

Her backyard and her kitchen were her favorite places to be as she was a Master Gardener and an incredible cook. She was always in her element entertaining friends and family at her table. She hosted a ladies bible study at her home for many years.

She was a past Worthy Matron of Easter Star Chapter #33 of Holliston, Massachusetts.  

She will be missed very much.

There will be no calling hours or services at this time. A memorial service and committal will be held in Margaree Valley, Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada at a later date.

Arrangements are under the direction of Clifford Funeral Home.
