Billy Bonick
September 30, 1942 – February 24, 2017
There will
be a celebration of life for Billy at the Moose Lodge (6191 Rock Island Road)
in Tamarac, Florida on Sunday, March 26, at
12pm.
Billy lived and worked in Massachusetts until moving
to Florida later in life. He worked for Sears in both states. At the time of
his death, he lived in Sunrise, Florida. Billy died at Florida Hospital’s
Heartland Medical Center following a battle with cancer. No obituary was
published.
The words and picture below were provided by Billy’s
longtime friend, Kathy Rooney.
I have known Billy for over 20 years. He was diagnosed
with cancer over a year ago, liver, colon and lungs. He did chemo for a year
then signed into hospice care. The treatment was making his hands and fingers
numb. He couldn't do it anymore. On February 2nd I helped him get into
Heartland of Tamarac (FL) for he desperately needed 24/7 care. Sad to say
he passed away on February 24th. Per his request there will be no funeral or
viewing, although prior to his passing I did have a Catholic priest give him
his last rights. I am also thinking of having a celebration of life for him at
the Moose Lodge in Tamarac where he was a member. It may take time to schedule
something at the Moose Lodge. I will let you know. If not, we (group of
friends) will have a celebration of life at someone's house. R.I.P. Boston
Billy.
