Maureen
McMasters Passed away Friday, July 30, at the age of 62, in Lake Tahoe, CA.
Maureen was
a native of Massachusetts before heading west to California in 1969. She
quickly became a part of what was then the early days of the semiconductor
industry, when the "Valley" was still more orchards than silicon. She
was an executive assistant during her more than 25 year career at American
Microsystems and Silicon Systems before retiring in 1997.
Maureen was
a long time resident of the Evergreen area of San Jose. She spent the last
couple of years dividing her time between San Jose and Lake Tahoe, as well as
many happy RV trips with her life partner, Dan. Maureen will be sorely missed
by Dan, her children, Sandy and Charles, grandsons CJ and Pauley, her sister
Carol and family, her best friends Betty and Duke and many other family and
friends spanning throughout California to Hawaii and the East Coast. She
touched so many lives. She was a friend to all, listened but did not judge, and
lent a hand when needed. We all treasured her unfailing sense of humor.
A life
celebration is currently being planned by her family. The family asks that in
lieu of flowers, donations be made in Maureen's name to the American Diabetes
Association.
