Frank Powers

Francis S. “Frank” Powers, Jr., 74, of Bellingham passed away Thursday, August 10, 2017 in Milford Regional Medical Center, Milford. He was the lifelong partner of Regina Tomaszewski who passed in 2010.

 

Frank had been employed as a security specialist for the U.S. Army Labs in Natick before his retirement.

 

Born September 4, 1942 in Boston, he was the son of the late Francis S. “Frank” and Gertrude L. “Trudy” (Gillis) Powers, Sr. He was a graduate of Natick High School, Class of 1960, and then went on to serve for the U.S. Army in the Vietnam War.

 

Frank was the Post commander for the Bellingham VFW and a life member of Elks in Woonsocket, RI. He enjoyed camping trips in Winchendon State Park and loved his cats.

 

He is survived by his siblings, Lawrence Powers of Marlborough, Kenneth and his wife Susan Powers of Bridgewater, and Alice and her husband Thomas Kinahan of Milford; two nephews, Patrick Powers of Woonsocket, RI and Adam Powers of Queens, NY; and a niece Kelly Powers of Bridgewater. He was predeceased by his Aunt Alice Gillis of Framingham.

 

Visiting hours will be held Tuesday, August 15, 2017 from 6-8 PM in the BUMA-SARGEANT FUNERAL HOME, 42 Congress St., Milford.

 

Funeral services will be held Wed. August 16, 2017 at 9 AM followed by a mass of Christian burial at 10 AM in St. Mary’s Parish, 19 Winter St., Milford.
