John W. McEvoy Obituary

 

John W. McEvoy, 67, of Spencer, passed away, Saturday, April 3rd at the Spaulding Rehabilitation Center in Cambridge, MA.

 

Born in Natick, MA; he was the son of the late William and Thelma (Blanchard) McEvoy and husband of Phyllis (McIntyre) McEvoy.

 

A resident of Spencer for the last two years Mr. McEvoy previously resided in Searsmont, ME where he and his wife owned and operated Aldus Shores Lakeside Campground. In addition, John retired from Coan Transportation as a truck driver for over 30 years. He was a member of the Framingham Eagles and booster member of the Natick V.F.W. John loved animals, especially his two dogs and cat.

 

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children; Noreene McEvoy of Almond Beach, Fl; and Shawn McEvoy of Michigan; nine step-children; Cheryl Ferrelli of Ashland; Vincent Tonelli of Petaluma, CA; Timothy Tonelli of Dudley, MA; Lisa DeVries of Spencer, MA; Lynn Troiano of Millbury, MA; Michael Tonelli of San Jose, CA; Allen Tonelli of Medway, MA; Tammi Ouillette of Northbridge, MA; and Traci Paletsky of Hudson, MA; 19 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, one aunt, Elizabeth McEvoy, and many cousins.

 

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, April 9th at 9:00am in St. Cecilias Church followed by urn burial in Wildwood Cemetery in Ashland. Calling hours will be held Thursday from 4:00-8:00 PM in the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. in Ashland. www.mataresefuneral.com.
