Sandra Jacobs

April 13, 1941 – October 17, 2023

Hampton - Sandra Grace Roy (Sandy), 82, long time resident of Hampton, NH passed away peacefully on October 17, 2023, surrounded by loved ones. Sandy was the youngest child born to the late Raymond Jacobs and Sarah Jacobs on April 13, 1941, in Boston, MA.

Sandy was raised in Natick, MA alongside her four older siblings. She graduated from Natick High School in 1960, followed by work in hospitality and health care. She married the love of her life Raymond Roy in 1967 where they lived in Salem, NH. As their family grew, they purchased The White Rock on Hampton Beach, NH. Sandy owned and operated White Rock Variety for many years, catering to vacationers and beach goers until her retirement around the time her oldest grandchildren were born. Sandy was a caregiver to her core. The matriarch of her family. Raising children and helping to raise grandchildren was the honor of her life. If she wasn’t caregiving for her grandchildren, she was spoiling them like a true grandmother does. She loved her family relentlessly. She was extremely proud of what she had created and the legacy she has left behind.

Throughout her life Sandy loved the beach. She was lucky enough to be able to look out her window at the ocean every day until the day she died. She enjoyed many years of winters in Florida. Making sure she brought as many grandkids as she could to Disney World. She also enjoyed crocheting beautiful Afghans, cooking and baking, watching the New England Patriots, country music and doing word search and sudoku puzzles. Sandy was known for her quiet stoicism, loyalty, generosity and was always reminding everyone how blessed we all were.

Sandy is survived by her children John (Jack), Robin, Steven and Joseph (wife Melanie) all of Hampton. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren Sarah (husband Doug), Renee, Jake, Joe (Wife Amanda), Jenna, Grace and Joey. Great grandchildren Dominic, Victoria, Savanah, Nolan and Lyla. Sandy is predeceased by her daughter Denise who battled leukemia as a young child. This was the great loss of her life. She is also predeceased by her four siblings Barbara, Patty, Dickie and Jackie and grandson Randy. Sandy’s beloved husband of 56 years passed away exactly 7 days after her. They just couldn’t bear the burden of being apart. A true love story until the end.

A celebration of life will be held from 4-7 PM on Thursday, November 2nd, 2023, at Remick & Gendron Funeral Home, 811 Lafayette Rd. Hampton, NH, 03842.
