Charles A. Adam, of Wayland, died peacefully on August 14th after a long battle with COPD, surrounded by his family. He was the son of the late John W. and Miriam (Dean) Adam.

He is survived by his wife Donna (Silva) and his children: Kevin Adam and his wife Bobbie of Dexter, ME; Kristen Adam of Hubbardston, MA; Meg Yeaton and her husband Rob of Portsmouth, NH; Stephanie Forde and her husband James of Hubbardston, MA; and Wendy Cronin and her husband John of Maynard, MA. He was predeceased by his daughter Amy Elizabeth Adam.

 

He is also survived by his loving and adoring grandchildren: Gabrielle, Isabella, Zachary, Jason, Katharine, Emersyn, Cameron, Caroline and Aiden. He also leaves behind his brothers Jack Adam and his wife Joan, Dean Adam and his wife Elizabeth, and sisters Judith Greenwood and Marcia Allessie and her husband Vincent. He was also the brother-in-law of the late Thomas J. Greenwood. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

 

Before retiring in 2012, Chuck worked as an equipment operator, mechanic and truck driver for Paul G. Smith Inc., in Holliston, MA. He also was a longtime employee of EH Perkins Construction in Hudson, MA and C&M Enterprises of Marlboro, MA. In addition he was a longtime member of the Lions Club of Marlboro, MA.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in his memory be made to the Amy Elizabeth Adam Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o the Wayland High School Scholarship Committee, PO Box 36, Wayland, MA 01778. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, August 19, at 11:00 a.m. at the Duckett-J. S.Waterman & Sons Home of Memorial Tribute, 656 Boston Post Road, Rte. 20, Sudbury followed by interment at Glenwood Cemetery, Natick.Visitation at the funeral home will be Monday evening from 6:00 to 9::00 p.m. and again on Tuesday from 10:00 to 11:00 o'clock prior to the funeral service.
