Marathon 2015
Boston Marathon 2015
A Ken Poole Summary
BAA Marathon-2015
Well, add marathon #48 to the
record book. Not the best day for a run to Boston, especially for the
spectators, but a fairly good day for the runners notwithstanding a 20mph
headwind all the way in. Kind of like running uphill for 26 miles. The rain and
cold weather was OK, it’s usually the wind that
presents the most problems. The spectators were great in spite of the
conditions along the way. Full representation in Natick...although somewhat
lacking at Union Sq. w/o Al and Joanna not being in their usual place. The
ladies at Wellesley College were out in force.....making an old man feel a
little older. I need to find a new hobby!
Coming down through Kenmore Sq.
was hard going for everyone, but that last turn onto Boylston just about blew
your socks off. I’ll never get use to that experience. The noise from the crowd
was enough to knock you over and the sight of the finish line some 300 yards
away..all you have to do is keep from falling
down.....just keep going...just a few more steps and there will be a hot bowl
of chowda waiting.
