Notes from
Jacksonville Beach:
Well, chalk this one up to old age. These old bones just couldn't pull it off.
We were beaten by a young 72 year old upstart from NY, but managed to come in
second and a Boston Qualifier for next year. Better known affectionately
as 'The Donna' named after Donna Diken, a local TV
newswoman who had and defeated breast cancer, it was a great run with four
miles on the beach, in the sand, on a great Florida day.. We're back in NE, in
the snow and ice getting ready for Boston next month. Hopefully the snow will
be off the roads by then. It should be an enormous and emotionally filled
event.
