Bob Graham contacted me today, 12/3/2019 with a very nice story about how his life and that of Simone LeRoux intertwined.

He had recently taken a look at this page and thought that Simone deserved a little more of an obituary than the single line above.

From  Judy Kinnear to Bob in response to his email below

So surprised to hear from you. I was not notified of Simone’s death until after Christmas this year — I’m sure in response to my Christmas card to her and Kay. Kay sent a very brief note telling me Simone had passed and she had moved north, Chicago area if I remember correctly, to be near relatives. No other information, but I doubt she would mind if you put something on the memory page. Given the background you just gave me I’m very surprised Kay didn’t notify you or some member of your family. I know Kay has a lot of medical problems, but not exactly what. Take care. Good to hear from you.

Hi Judy,

I was saddened to hear of Simone's passing especially since there was no information in her obituary  and also, that she passed in February last year.

Funny thing, I met Simone briefly when we were in the 4th grade! That was a time when Natick experienced tremendous growth and "musical schools" took place. I went from the old Bacon Street School for 3rd grade across town to the Harold Johnson School and over to East Natick Lilja School for 4th and 5th, back to Harold Johnson for 6th. It was in the 4th grade that I met Simone since she had been assigned to the Lilja, from the East Natick School which was located across Rt 9 . She was only at Lilja for a few weeks when she and a few others went back to the East Natick School. From that time on straight through graduation, our paths did not cross again. Fact is we have never met face to face from the brief time in 4th grade.

Several years ago I think around 2002(??) I had joined the  "Classmates" site and came across Simone's name. I emailed her and we started a dialog via email that went on for many years. She mentioned Kay often and she simply said that they lived together and had as well back in McLean VA. They both had careers with the government and at a point she told me what she had done for the gov.. Somewhere along the way I began to address my emails to both of them. I sent ecards for the holidays and checked on them as the various hurricanes blew through. We kept up quite well for 2 people 3 counting Kay who hadn't met face to face (except for 3 weeks in 4th grade)!

My sister in law and her husband lived in Louisiana N.O and Slidell and then in Gulfport MS Pat and Jaci (Jackie) my in laws, are free spirits They have lived in many places San Diego area, Mexico, Costa Rico and New Zealand to name a few. This was good for my wife and me since we visited at each location. We have traveled quite a bit for very little expense. In 2005 they had settled down in Gulfport MS as it seems (they were winding down flitting around). 2005 is remembered in part for hurricane Katrina. They packed up their van with essentials and scooted on over to Pensacola to avoid the brunt of the storm and in deed it worked out well. After it settled down they were allowed to return to their homes though the FEEMA  boys and girls reported that the satellite views didn't show anything at the location. That was true, there was only a cement pad where the house was and among the ocean debris left from the storm surge the only possession found was a small pocket knife. Pat and Jaci went back to Pensacola to live in a motel, actually for 8 months while FEEMA figured out what to do. Early on, I mentioned my in laws to Simone and she wanted contact information for them. Over the 8 months, she and Kay had my sister in law and her husband to dinner may times and in return they took Simone and Kay out to a meal regularly.

In light of the obit info being almost non existent, I am moved to post this story on the Class of 1959 page that Al Ross keeps up. I am somewhat in question to do this since no information was given by Kay. I thought this strange in light of their long time lives together The possibility exits that Kay preceded Simone though I have not been able turn up any proof of this. Do you know of any information on the matter? I would not want to create a situation that may be sensitive to Kay though they lived together for a long time (30-40 years?)

Let me know with any information.
