UPTON Peter C. Horning, 67, of Upton, formerly of Natick, died Saturday, Dec. 27, 2008, at Milford Regional Hospital.

 

He was the husband of Elaine L. (Koldenborg) Horning, to whom he was married for 40 years.

 

A resident of Upton for 36 years, he was born in Natick, the son of the late Walter P. and Bridget (Doherty) Horning.

 

Mr. Horning worked for Commonwealth Gas Company for 36 years as supervisor for distribution. He was the former president of the Steelworkers of America Union Local 1200, coached Pop Warner football in Milford, and enjoyed golf and world travel. Mr. Horning was a member of the Hoboken Club of Milford and had formerly served with the Massachusetts Army National Guard.

 

Mr. Horning attended the Natick school system and graduated from Natick High School class of 1959.

 

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one brother, Walter F Horning and his wife, Jacqueline, of Natick; brothers-in-law, Richard Koldenborg of North Attleboro and David Koldenborg of Florida; a nephew, Timothy Horning of Pawtucket, R.I; and many cousins.

 

He was also the brother of the late John Horning.

 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral Mass Wednesday, Dec. 31, at 10 a.m., at St Patrick Church, Natick. Visiting hours at the John Everett and Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park St., at Natick Common, are Tuesday, Dec. 30, 5 to 8 p.m.
