I met Leslie in 1953 when we moved from Dorchester, MA to Natick.  We met when I started Coolidge Jr. High.  She lived around the corner from me.  Leslie was an only child.  She was very soft spoken and a very kind girl.  Through all the school years we went to the movies, horseback riding, hung out eat each other's homes, and did all the things young girls do growing up.  Leslie had many friends.  She and her parents moved over to North Natick from West Natick.  We would hang out at her new "big" house.  Saturdays we would go shopping and hang out.  I'd be invited for Sat. night supper of franks/beans and brown bread.  We would even eat in the dining room!  That was special.

After high school, as with many things, everyone went their own way.  Leslie got married and has 3 sons.  I ran in to her working in a card store at Rt. 9/27 in the early 1990's.  She had just become a grandmother.  I saw her a few times after that at the card store and then the card store closed for good.

I retired and moved out of state in 2000 and read about her death and was so shocked and saddened by it.  I'll always remember her kindness to me and the good friend she was.
