OXFORD - Helen A. (McLaughlin) Lawless, 73, of Mount Pleasant Street, died Saturday, August 22, 2015, in her home. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Dennis Lawless, Sr., of Oxford; five children, Robert Lawless, Kathleen A. Blanchette and her husband Paul, Debora L. Gum and her husband Wayne, Dennis Lawless Jr. and his wife Deborah, and Cherri F. Brady, all of Oxford; a brother, Patrick McLaughlin of Ashland; 14 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by two brothers, Daniel McLaughlin and Brian McLaughlin. She was born in Somerville, daughter of the late Patrick and Anne (Denvir) McLaughlin, and lived in Westboro and Natick before moving to Oxford 25 years ago. She graduated from Natick High School in 1959. Mrs. Lawless was a member of St. Roch's Church in Oxford. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and camping. She loved animals, especially her dogs Thea and Harriet, volunteered for the Humane Society, and gave her time to starting the new animal shelter in Oxford. She was a volunteer at the Senior Center in Oxford. A funeral will be held on Thursday, August 27, 2015, from Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, followed by a Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Roch's Church, 332 Main St., Oxford. Burial will follow at St. Roch's Cemetery in Oxford. Calling hours are Wednesday, August 26, 2015, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
